PERSONALITY: typical words used to describe courtney would be high maintenance, hard working, persistent, and innocent. courtney is extremely type a, she likes order, accepts responsibility, and never backs down from a challenge, especially when it's something academic or something she knows she can do. of course, through the years something has changed in her for the most part. she's become significantly less bossy and innocent, which is probably because of the amount of time she spends with duncan. he's had an extremely positive effect on her, to the point where she's a completely different person when she's around him: she's more comfortable with sexual things, she doesn't get angry at him when he does things she doesn't like, and she's more open to new experiences.

HISTORY: courtney was born and raised in canada, but after she turned three, she moved to a small town in louisiana. from the beginning, her parents knew she'd be smart, so when she turned five, they tested her into school and she began first grade at the young age of five. courtney grew up sheltered. between her parents constant shielding her from the real world and her private school education, courtney was kept from knowing anything a normal kid should know. that is until she moved to new jersey to attend a prestigious private school -- westwood academy -- and met her best friend and the love of her life. duncan james sanders and harmony black taught her most of the things she knows today -- granted duncan taught her it by example, while harmony simply told her things. four years into her and duncan's relationship, courtney got accepted to u.c.l.a. for journalism and duncan went to new york for school meaning they'd have to either struggle through the relationship or break up. heart broken, courtney agreed to break up until after college, never seeing duncan again. years later, duncan found her and saved her from a group of thugs and they reconciled, realizing that it was too hard staying apart as long as they had. she found out he was a vampire and since then she's been plotting ways to get him to change her.

RP SAMPLE!
it was strange for her to think about how she and her boyfriend got together because it felt like just yesterday she was screaming at the top of her lungs at him, telling him to leave her alone. up until a night that went blank after a certain point she'd hated him -- duncan janes sanders had been the bane of her existence. a party -- they had been at a party one night and she'd unknowingly gotten drunk, and honestly if it wasn't for him she wouldn't have been able to remember anything. at all. then he told her rest, they kissed, they went home together, they slept in the same bed and then she woke up with a splitting headache with her cheek pressed against his chest. as far as she was concerned no one knew anything about how they ended up together aside from the making out drunk in the bathroom because she'd been caught with her dress hiked up on her thighs and her legs wrapped around him while she sat on the sink -- an extremely compromising position, especially for a girl who was supposed to be a goody-two shoes. it was moments like these, when the blonde wondered if she really was as innocent as she'd always been, as she was waiting for duncan to show up at her dorm room. of course she had no real intentions of doing anything, and it was technically not curfew yet. she had almost two hours to hang out with him in her dorm, but if she knew duncan, which she thought she did, he'd try to push that. she was worried about her innocence still though -- as a sophomore it felt like all of the things she'd been introduced to here at westwood were things she shouldn't know anything about yet, and she had her boyfriend and harmony to blame for that.
what did she plan on doing with duncan anyway? well, she wasn't exactly sure yet. she knew she wanted to talk to him, talk about whatever this thing between them was -- this dating thing, but she was almost positive that it would turn into something else. not that she didn't want that, but duncan made her nervous -- he still didn't realize that and she didn't want to screw something up and make things awkward between them. and since the other night on chat with harmony all she could think about was the awkward things they were talking about... and him. him doing the awkward stuff ... to her, and her enjoying it. and of course she was thinking about how if anyone knew that was even a thought she'd be in so much trouble. how terrible would it be if someone found out? it would be mortifying. she'd probably be ridiculed, because honestly just the idea of doing something like that made her blush. she was supposed to be a good girl. sweet, naive -- but instead she was letting herself turn into some kind of sexual deviant all because she got a boyfriend. the girl lay back on her bed, letting out an exasperated groan, blue eyes closing tightly as though the problem would just go away because her eyes were closed. before that night she hadn't even kissed a boy and up until recently she hadn't had any thoughts of doing anything but kissing duncan. was it duncan that was making her like this? she hoped not. she'd always told herself not to let some guy dictate what she did. but if it was him, what was she to do? she really liked him.... she didn't know if love was the correct word yet, but she thought he was a great guy. she didn't want to lose that all because she was suddenly seeing things differently.
but what else was she to do? she had two options -- she could roll with these new thoughts, try things, be adventurous, but that came with consequences. or, she could resist whatever she felt and try to go back to her normal book smart self. there were no consequences to the second one. a knock at the door pulled the girl from her thoughts and courtney sat up from her bed, smoothing down her hair and clothes, then standing up to get off of the bed to go to the door. in quick strides she was at the door, pulling it open to reveal the always handsome duncan. her heart skipped a best and butterflies emerged as she let her eyes meet his. he always looked so good, and here she was dressed her her outfit from school -- in a sweater with a dog on it. it was moments like these when she realized that she was still a little girl, despite her current battles with things well beyond her. she gave him a smile before speaking breathlessly "hi." it took her a moment to move her out of the way and let him in and when she finally did she muttered a sorry and scooted over, letting him in then closing the door behind him. "how was school today?" she mentally slapped her head, deciding she sounded like a parent rather than his girlfriend.
