PERSONALITY: Hayden is a sweetheart. He can be hyper and bouncy and loud, but he's also very gentle and laid back and tends to only be hyper around people he completely trusts which, sadly, isn't many. He knows just what to do to not offend people, and can hide his hurt from others so he doesn't make them feel uncomfortable. He doesn't like others to feel discomfort, or sadness, and always seeks to please others. He can be a bit of a push over, and many have taken advantage of his because of this. He hates when people are stuck up and snobby, and anyone speaking against gay rights or making fun of him hurts his feelings, and also hurts a lot of other people. He is shy, especially around new people. Around guys he can be really quiet, especially if he doesn't know if they are straight or not because he knows a lot of guys flip out about things like that. Once he is comfortable around someone, he can be a flirt. If you happen to be one of his close friends, he'll trust you with anything and everything and will be extremely loyal to you. Hayden isn't the type to blackmail, or spread rumors, or spill secrets.

HISTORY: Hayden was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was born into a family of very strict and up-tight Christians and was taught all through his life that homosexuality and bisexuality were horrible sins. His parents and the church always talked about it like it was some horrible thing, so he always told himself the same thing - until his older sister stood up for gay rights one night at dinner, while discussing how Hayden had done at his first hunter/jumper show. He was nine at the time and his sister was four years older, thirteen. After that, Hayden felt like he could trust his sister, so he opened up to her and told her the truth - he was gay. Hayden went on to tell a few more close friends, but that was it. Instead of telling his parents, he simply allowed them to keep thinking he was straight and laughed off any gay comments he got because of his love for horses and riding, which he shared with his sister.
It was also around the age of nine that his father started to abuse him. Daily beatings, molested every night. All for saying some boy in his class had pretty eyes. His father threatened to kill him if he told anyone about what was happening, and Andrew made sure to convince Hayden that he loved him. To this day, Hayden still refers to his father as Daddy. The beating slowly began to get worse and worse, but Hayden never said a thing. He never even screamed. People could have been in the other room, and he still never even thought to scream. After all, Daddy loved him, and like Daddy said, "Spare the rod, spoil the child." Daddy wasn't doing anything wrong. At least, that's what Hayden made himself believe. Only after dating Jim for a while, and finally accepting that it was okay to fall in love with another guy, did Hayden finally say something. When Daddy found out, he wasn't too happy, and came to Hayden's school to "teach him a lesson." In other words... he raped him.
After all of that drama was over, Hayden and Jim were finally able to graduate and get married, and everything was great and perfect and wonderful. The marriage lasted for about a week. Jim died in an accident. Hayden refused to believe it. For the few weeks, he seemed to be fine, but as the second month came along it was obvious he was hurting. He didn't eat, he didn't talk to anyone, he didn't leave the house. He believed Jim was just going to walk through the door one day, and when he didn't, he would literally go insane and search the house for his husband. In closets, under beds, in kitchen cabinets, anywhere. But he never found Jim, and every second that passed without him killed a piece of him until he finally just decided he would be better off dead.
