LIKES: rain, storms, blood
DISLIKES: vampires, werewolves, (most) cats
STRENGTHS: fearless, intelligent
WEAKNESSES: won't hesitate to start (or finish) a fight, has a hard time controlling her instincts
DEEPEST SECRET: the scar on her left side is one she received while she was shifted--a betrayal by someone she loved. though she can heal quickly, it was deep enough that it nearly killed her. she is very self-conscious about it in human form, preferring to wear clothing that covers it over. when shifted, she makes sure to lick her fur down to help cover it.
PERSONALITY: Kris wants you to believe that she is tough, solid, impenetrable. she isn't afraid to get in your face if you insult her, and won't hesitate to start, or finish, a fight. word quickly gets around that she isn't a woman to be messed with and, at least among the humans, her reputation keeps her safe.
when she isn't busy making sure she appears a lot tougher than she really is (and she does know how to handle herself in a fight), Kris is worrying about everything. whether she'll have enough money to pay rent. whether she'll ever have any friends. if she'll ever be happy. anything and everything that could possibly be wrong she worries about. panic and anxiety attacks plague her, leaving her in a constantly emotionally fragile state.
with all of her anxieties, Kris has taken to spending as much time as possible in her shifted form of a coyote.

HISTORY: Kris was born to shifter parents whom loved her dearly. she had a pretty normal life for a kid, despite being a shifter. her parents made sure that she was not blind to the true dangers of the world, but gave her the knowledge she would need to keep herself safe. when the time came, she left her parents in search of her own path in the world.
it wasn't long before she mastered her coyote shift, and used it as both an escape from reality, and a way to get by. when she couldn't afford to buy food, became evicted from her apartment, she'd take to her coyote form and survive.

Hello. My name is crow and I've been roleplaying for twelve years out of the twenty-one years I've been living. I found this site by bruiser's awesomesauceness and I'm glad to be here. I play no other characters as well! By the way, I read the rules. phrase here

Every racing heartbeat she had to wait for an answer was fire in her blood, violence in her thoughts. Magnum wouldn't dare stray from her mate willingly, Darastrix knew that as surely as the existence of the sun and the moon. This could've only happened without the grey's consent. Magnum might be quick, might be vicious if the time calls, but she didn't have the weight and strength of her mate. If a male of Darastrix's size or larger decided to take her, there would be little Magnum could do once he had his jaws on her. This was the only way the white could believe Magnum had become pregnant. Everything just made sense. With Magnum sore from the wound she suffered during the cougar's attack on the pack den, and Darastrix not following her around as though their lives depended on it, the grey must've found herself at odds with a roving male--the alpha couldn't find evidence that it had been a male within the pack.
The event must've shocked Magnum into silence. The trauma caused the nightmares which, in turn, stressed the grey's body and mind. She couldn't tell her mate for fear... The growl faded from the white wolf's chest, snarl falling away. Darastrix realized that it must've been a fear of her very reaction that had kept Magnum's muzzle clamped tight. She had dared to tell her mate, and had gotten what she had feared in response. All aggression dropped away from Darastrix's body, stiffness leaving her limbs. It didn't matter who or why. It mattered that Magnum was okay. That she knew her mate would care for her, regardless. There was nothing that Magnum could do or say that would make Darastrix stop loving her. The wolf's ears pressed back as she heard the panic in her mate's whisper. Anxiety flared within her own breast as Magnum's sides began heaving, the grey gasping as though she couldn't breathe. "It's okay. I'm here." The white reached out with her muzzle, rubbing it gently across her mate's face.
Darastrix stilled. The pups were hers? They shared their blood? A cold feeling seeped in to her limbs, her paws going numb. She could see just how panicked Magnum was. How utterly terrified that her mate wouldn't believe her. Darastrix could stand to see her in this state no more. The white shut her eyes and pushed her head into her mate's neck, pressing her body against Magnum's to give her something solid to lean against. She knew the slighter wolf might pull away in her panic, but she didn't care. "I love you, Magnum. I love you with everything that I am." Her voice was quiet, the naturally deep tone loud in the night around them. She lifted a paw and made a motion to scoop one of Magnum's into her own, holding it in a gentle embrace. "There is nothing in this world that can ever change that." She hoped this affirmation of their mate-bond would help to calm the fear within the grey, to help her understand just how deep the white's love ran.
There was a brief moment where Darastrix wondered if this was all a dream. If she was really asleep somewhere, curled up beneath a rock on the outskirts of pack territory. If she wasn't truly just an outcast, trying to survive without a pack, dreaming of what it would be like to be an alpha, to have a mate... to have pups on the way. Then a soft breeze carried Magnum's scent--the one held beneath the sharp tang of fear, the one she found when she nuzzled deep into the grey's fur--and she knew this was no dream. Everything she had been worrying about over the last season was real. Magnum's irritation, her nightmares, her weight gain--these weren't signs of stress and fear caused by a traumatic event. They were subtle hints of the pregnancy that the grey had been dealing with alone. The white wolf let her mate's paw drop to the ground, replacing her own limb beneath her. She stepped back, regarding Magnum's full form.
Darastrix's gaze traced the outline of her mate. She could see, now, how Magnum's stomach was enlarged. How she no longer stood on her toes as though ready to leap at a moment's notice, but instead leaned heavily on them from the extra weight. There was a droop in her posture that came with carrying a belly full of pups. The white wolf came forward, moving tentatively toward Magnum's left side, placing herself between the edge of the platform the grey's body (a subconscious move to further the safety of her mate). She touched her muzzle to the grey's shoulder, running her nose gently across her back and down her side to her swollen stomach. Darastrix inhaled deeply. The scent she found was the one she had noticed half a season ago, the morning before the pack had laid claim to Silver Falls. She'd had no idea what to make of it then. Now she knew. It was the scent of tiny developing bodies within Magnum's womb. A subtle hint of heat that hadn't been there before. Darastrix turned wondering eyes to her mate's, bi-colored orbs twinkling.
"This is a blessing from the gods." Darastrix was not a religious wolf, she didn't fully believe in the concept of beings who lived in the sky, but she could express the magnitude of her wonder and happiness no other way. Perhaps Magnum was right, and Agapi knew how this had transpired, but Darastrix didn't care to ask. The old wolf would've given her a grin, a pat on the head, and gone about her business. "Magnum..." Darastrix turned slightly, more directly facing her mate's side. Her sharp ears had picked up something and now they stood erect, gaze focused on the grey's stomach. Darastrix lifted a paw, placing it gently on Magnum's fur. "How many are there?" Questions began to form in her mind, lining up like bullets, waiting to be fired. Darastrix struggled to give her mate time to respond. "Can you tell if they are male or female? Do they know who we are? Can they hear us?"
Darastrix lept away as though she had come in contact with an electrical wire. She stood a few feet away, fur fluffed up quite comically, limbs stiff and tense, ready to move again. She turned her wide-eyed gaze on Magnum. "One touched me."
