The air around her seemed to be wavering, back and forth, like a faulty television screen. The heat rose up from the black top in waves, making everything seem almost cartoonish. It was interesting, all so very interesting, and she couldn't help but pay attention to it, head tilted to one side as she stood at the side of the road. Many that drove by with their windows or car tops down gave her strange looks and when they were stopped at the red light, many rolled up their windows as they looked at her or stared straight ahead in an effort to keep their eyes away from her. But they always drifted back in her direction. They couldn't help it. Humans were curious creatures by nature. She would know. She had been one not too long ago. But that was then and this was now. And now she was so much more than a human.

Lips curved up into a small grin, a girlish giggle emptying out into the air as she took a step forward into the road. She heard the screech of the tires before she felt the impact of the car. It hurt, but not much, and it sent her sprawling onto the ground. More damage had been done to the car than to herself. The bumper now had a big dent in her in the shape of a human body. Kiki chuckled as she laid there on the hot asphalt, stretching her arms above her head and yawning as the driver came out of the car in a panic, on his cell phone, asking her a million questions and begging her to be alright. The eighteen year old demon laughed and sat up, running her fingers through her hair before slowly getting to her feet. The man was speechless and watched in what looked like horror as she strode off across the road without so much as a limp.

She didn't bother to look back as she reached the other side of the road. Instead, she looked down an alleyway that was before her, dark and ominous. What could be lurking in the dark shadows that the buildings on either side of the alley created? Couldn't be anything worse than what she was, unless Lucius decided to pop out of nowhere and scare her. The girl laughed, shaking her head and sighing as she slowly made her way down the alleyway, whistling an eerie tune to herself.
