PERSONALITY: Dylan is very much so a thin layer of hardness surrounding a gooey center. He's got a heart of gold, but it's surrounded by brick walls and barbed wire to keep people out. While he can seem intimidating, throwing his size around, if you get under that shell you'll find a very caring person. Right now however, he's more like a zombie, snapping at everyone who comes near him because he just wants to be left alone.

HISTORY: From the start Dylans life wasn't that fairy tale you mostly hear about. He was the third child born - his older twin brothers already establishing a violent nature, and his mother expected him to be the same way. A cruel woman who never wanted children in the first place, she often left him alone with them, especially as they got older. His father was rarely home, usually in France because of his job. At first it was simple bullying and name-calling, then they began beating the hell out of him just because they could. When he was seven however, the boys discovered another way to make him hurt - they began raping him, one holding him down while the other committed the act. When he told their mother after the first time, she merely sneered 'stop making up stories, you perverted freak' in French and left him in the care of his brothers once more. That night they beat him until he could barely move and told him if he ever talked of what happened they would first knife Damon (who even then he was trying to protect) and then him. He believed them and never spoke a word of it again.
He was sent to a school in New Jersey after getting expelled from his last school for a fight, something he'd been getting in trouble for more and more often. Things started changing for the better then. His brothers were in California, the abuse stopped...and he fell in love. Then at the end of Junior year, things just...fell apart. His boyfriend was disowned by his parents, and when he went to talk to them he just...disappeared. A few weeks later Dyl received a letter that told where his boyfriend was, a letter that horrified him with the abuse but when he tried to get help for his boyfriend, to save him somehow, everyone just brushed him off as delusional, or worse, laughed in his face. That was the last time he heard from his boyfriend until he received the news that Braey had died. He basically shut down that day: became a walking zombie, not really responding to anything.
On the day of Braeys funeral he broke down sobbing, and when it was over one of Braeys parents friends came over to him and told him he was the reason their son was dead, that if he hadn't 'diseased' Braey, his boyfriend would still be alive. The words nearly destroyed him - he turned into a zombie once again, pulling a thick shell around him to protect himself, becoming almost catatonic. The only thing that shook him out of it was when Braey returned as an angel, and he had his lover back once more. He became a vampire in order to avoid becoming old and dying while Braey would be immortal. They got an apartment together and became engaged, and Braey became pregnant with their first son, Austin. Soon following Austin came the twins, Blaise and Olivia, and they lived as a happy little family for a while. Braey became pregnant with a fourth child, but when he was raped by a demon, the child was corrupted and killed, and they're still a little shaken by the loss.
